The Result

"One-sided mass land destruction / land lock"

Required Cards

Balance

Symmetrically reduces each player to the lowest land, creature, and hand count

Zuran Orb

Sacrifice your own lands in response, so your land count is zero when Balance resolves

Execution Steps

1

Set up with Zuran Orb in play and Balance in hand, ideally when opponents have committed more lands than you.

2

Cast Balance.

3

In response, sacrifice all of your own lands to Zuran Orb, gaining 2 life per land.

4

Balance resolves: with your land count at zero, every opponent sacrifices their lands down to match, wiping their mana base.

5

Rebuild from the symmetric, landless position with a life cushion; Land Tax is the traditional refill engine (note: Land Tax is also banned in Premodern).

Important Rules Notes

Sacrificing lands to Zuran Orb is done in response to Balance, while Balance is on the stack, so your land count is already zero when Balance checks each player's land total. Balance also rebalances creatures and cards in hand, so empty your hand and board first to make the symmetry one-sided. Balance is banned in Premodern (and Land Tax, the classic follow-up engine, is banned as well), so this is a historical interaction, not a legal deck.
