Wg Aggro
WG Weenie Aggro
Overview
"White-green beatdown that floods the board with evasive, hard-to-kill threats and protects them relentlessly. Savannah Lions, Soltari Priest, Silver Knight, Whipcorder, and Soltari Champion come down early while Mother of Runes and Rancor make each creature untouchable and lethal, and Call of the Herd and Sylvan Library refuel the assault. Swords to Plowshares clears the path while Armadillo Cloak and Wax // Wane push through a fast, resilient clock."
Game Plan
GW Aggro opens on tempo and never relinquishes it. A turn-one Birds of Paradise or Savannah Lions establishes the clock while Mother of Runes arrives a turn later to make every subsequent attacker a nightmare to answer: she grants protection at instant speed, meaning removal loses to her on the stack and blocking loses to her in combat. Rancor slots onto the most threatening body immediately, pressing for trample damage and recurring itself after any trade to keep the pressure continuous. Sylvan Library is the engine that separates a punishing hand from an overwhelming one: deployed as early as turn two, it lets the deck draw deeper each turn, paying life that Armadillo Cloak will more than erase once it resolves. Swords to Plowshares clears whatever threatens to stop the bleeding on the opponent's side, and Wax // Wane doubles as a pump trick to push through lethal or enchantment removal on demand, depending on what the board requires.
The win comes in two overlapping waves. The first is a straightforward aura beatdown: Armadillo Cloak on a Soltari Priest or any other hard-to-block creature creates a life-gaining clock the opponent often cannot race, particularly with Mother of Runes holding removal at bay. The second wave activates once the graveyard fills: Call of the Herd flashing back from the yard and creatures traded in combat push the deck toward threshold, at which point Mystic Enforcer becomes a flying 6/6 that closes the game in two attacks. Against grindy opponents who stabilize the ground, this shift from weenie pressure to an evasive threshold threat is the structural backup plan, ensuring the deck rarely runs out of angles.
