Uwg Control
Bant Control
Overview
"A blue-white permission deck splashing green almost solely for Gaea's Blessing, which shuffles the graveyard back into the library to recur spent answers and make decking impossible while feeding repeat castings of Accumulated Knowledge and Fact or Fiction for relentless card advantage. Counterspell, Mana Leak, Prohibit, and Foil protect the plan, Swords to Plowshares and Wrath of God erase creatures, and Decree of Justice closes the game, cycled at the opponent's end step for a swarm of Soldier tokens or hardcast for 4/4 Angels."
Game Plan
UWg Control is a permission deck built to survive long enough to bury opponents in card advantage, then cash that advantage into a lethal token swarm. The opening turns are entirely reactive: Swords to Plowshares answers the first meaningful threat for a single white mana, Mana Leak taxes anything that slips through on turns two and three, and Counterspell locks down whatever the opponent considers essential. Meanwhile, Impulse and early Accumulated Knowledge keep the land drops coming and stock the graveyard, a critical step, because each subsequent Accumulated Knowledge draws one extra card for every copy already in the yard, turning a modest two-mana cantrip into a three- or four-card refill by the mid-game. Fact or Fiction accelerates the process dramatically when cast at the opponent's end step: even a losing pile often yields two or three cards, and the winning pile reloads permission. Gaea's Blessing stitches the engine together, shuffling spent Counterspells and Swords to Plowshares back into the library so the deck never exhausts its answers.
Once the board is clear and the hand is full, the deck moves to close. Decree of Justice is the primary finisher, cycled at the opponent's end step for as many Soldier tokens as mana allows, then backed by open Counterspell mana on the following turn to protect the swarm. Wrath of God clears any resistance that accumulates before the tokens swing, and Powder Keg handles small permanents the sweeper cannot answer cleanly. Exalted Angel offers a secondary path: a 4/5 flyer with lifelink that stabilizes life totals while demanding an immediate answer. Phyrexian Furnace and Disenchant police opposing graveyards and enchantments throughout, keeping graveyard-based engines from outpacing the permission suite and ensuring that when the Decree tokens finally attack, there is nothing left standing to stop them.
