The thin land count means losing early creatures or accelerants like Llanowar Elves and Quirion Ranger can leave the deck out of gas.
Board sweepers like Pyroclasm and Wrath of God devastate its creature — heavy battlefield.
Pump spells like Giant Growth, Invigorate, and Bounty of the Hunt are one — shot and demand committing a creature to combat.
Lifegain such as Exalted Angel can climb out of range of its fast but finite clock.

How to win with it

Mulligan any hand that cannot start attacking by turn one or two: a keeper needs a Forest (or Land Grant to fetch one) plus a one-drop body or a mana creature and a way to grow it. Llanowar Elves or Fyndhorn Elves into Rogue Elephant or River Boa is the dream keep; a hand of only Quirion Ranger with no other creatures is a speculative keep at best.
Your engine sequence is Forest into Llanowar Elves on turn one, then Rogue Elephant on turn two, sacrificing a Forest to its enter-the-battlefield trigger so it sticks as a 3/3. Quirion Ranger then bounces a remaining Forest to your hand so you can replay it for your land drop or untap a creature, smoothing the tempo cost the Rogue Elephant sacrifice demanded, before equipping Rancor and swinging.
Drop Winter Orb only when you are ahead on board, never into an empty one: resolve it after you have committed two or more creatures so you keep attacking while the opponent is throttled to one untap per turn. Quirion Ranger replaying an untapped Forest each turn helps you mitigate your own side of the lock.
Hold Giant Growth and Bounty of the Hunt as combat tricks rather than pre-combat pumps. Giant Growth wins a fight or pushes lethal at instant speed, while Bounty of the Hunt distributes three permanent +1/+1 counters among any number of your creatures and can be cast for free by exiling a green card, so banking it for a double-block blowout both wins the exchange and leaves your team permanently bigger.
The dream draw closes by turn three or four: Elvish Spirit Guide exiles for green mana to power out a turn-one Rogue Elephant or Skyshroud Elite, Land Grant fetches a Forest to hand for free when you hold no lands to keep the curve flowing, and Rancor returns to your hand whenever its creature dies so your pump never runs dry. Chain these to deploy two threats early and protect the swing with Giant Growth.
When the fast kill stalls, grind through Rancor recursion and evasive threats: re-equip the returning Rancor onto River Boa, which can regenerate to survive blocks and is unblockable while the opponent controls an Island, or onto Vine Dryad, which you flash in at instant speed for free by exiling a green card. Lean on Quirion Ranger to wring an extra land replay from a single Forest each turn and keep swinging even under Winter Orb.

How to beat it

Kill the mana accelerants Llanowar Elves and Quirion Ranger before Rancor and Giant Growth turn a creature lethal.
Answer Rancor by exiling it or hitting it with graveyard hate, since destroying the creature just returns it to hand.
Land a board sweeper after the deck overcommits, ideally once its pump spells are spent.
Hold removal until after a pump spell is committed so Giant Growth or Invigorate can't blow you out.
Race or win on a non-combat axis, exploiting its lack of countermagic and low land base.
