The deck damages itself heavily through upkeep costs and Phyrexian Negator, so it races its own life total.
Lifegain like Exalted Angel can put the game out of reach since its clock is finite.
Phyrexian Negator's drawback is catastrophic when its creatures are killed in combat or by removal.
A sweeper such as Pyroclasm or Wrath of God wipes its low — toughness board and ends the pressure.

How to win with it

Keep any hand with two or more one-drops (Carnophage, Sarcomancy, Dauthi Horror, or Dauthi Slayer) plus at least two Swamps; mulligan any hand with no one-drop, and mulligan any hand with no Swamp even if it holds Dark Ritual, since the deck collapses on the mana it skips.
The dream draw lands turn-one Carnophage or Sarcomancy, then resolves Bad Moon early to push those into 3/3 ground beaters while your shadow creatures (Dauthi Horror, Dauthi Slayer, Skittering Skirge) attack unblocked every turn against any non-shadow board; a second early shadow body stacks so much guaranteed damage that the opponent dies by turn four or five with no further help.
Lead with Duress or Cabal Therapy on a turn you have spare mana to strip an answer before you commit a threat, not after; Cabal Therapy doubles up by naming a card now and flashing back later when you sacrifice a creature such as a Sarcomancy token, and if you suspect no interaction, jam the threat first and save the discard for when you already dominate the board.
Kaervek's Spite is a finisher, not removal: hold it until the opponent is at five or fewer life, since it makes them lose exactly five, and remember it can be countered and forces you to sacrifice all your permanents and discard your hand, so a too-early cast empties you for nothing while a Spite that closes the last five points with a Dauthi Slayer already connecting is this deck's cleanest kill.
Hatred is the highest-variance line: cast it on a Dauthi Horror or Dauthi Slayer that is already swinging unblocked, pay the life to raise its power to lethal in one combat, and accept you can lose if it is countered or the creature is killed in response; do not burn Hatred when Kaervek's Spite is the safer kill, since Spite cannot be answered on board the way a pumped attacker can.
When the fast draw stalls, grind behind Cursed Scroll: keep exactly one card in hand so its random reveal always matches the named card and the ping is guaranteed each turn, lean on cheap evasive Skittering Skirge to keep adding flying damage, and let your non-shadow creatures trade so the shadow creatures keep connecting unanswered until the opponent reaches five life for Kaervek's Spite.

How to beat it

Gain life with Exalted Angel or similar to outrun its self-damaging clock.
Use a cheap sweeper like Pyroclasm to clear Carnophage, Dauthi, and the rest of its small creatures.
Trade with or block Phyrexian Negator to trigger its devastating permanent-sacrifice drawback.
Race carefully, remembering it loses life every turn and may kill itself if you stay out of burn range.
Deploy efficient spot removal on Dauthi Slayer and Dauthi Horror since their shadow makes them otherwise unblockable.
